If the model is specified in mxPath() format, it is easy to derive a diagram. If it is specified in matrices (which Hermine's script uses) then diagrams have to be prepared manually. However, the umx package generates mxPath models, so umxACEv is likely what you are looking for... The graphs it generates are generally not very pretty, but they can be saved as (using plot) .dot files, which can be then read by several graphics packages and manipulated therein for publication quality.
