There is now a working draft of a simplified manual, updated 16th March 2010, which assumes no prior knowledge of R or Mx. It takes the reader up to ACE model-fitting in both matrix and path format.
It would be useful to have some feedback from beginners who try it out, and from experts who may spot mistakes.
